Abstract:

This paper examines the QURANIC STORIES in a narratological approach. First the problem of the research is explained and the hypothesis is raised that there is no relationship between the QURANIC STORIES and narratology. The paper then reviews the literary on the litrary approaches to the Quran and the Holy Book. Then the genealogy of the words related to QURANIC STORIES is given. In the next part, the components of narratology i. e. story and text levels are described and then some QURANIC STORIES are studied in a narratological approach, using these components. Finally, more than 10 findings are proposed as the results and the paper concludes that there is a positive relationship between the QURANIC STORIES and narratology.

Abstract:

The holy Quran has drawn the spiritual and abstract concepts with the use of the symbol in a form of the material structures and creates dynamic and effective images in the addresses’ mind and it influences on human minds. One of the differences of the QURANIC STORIES with other human STORIES is compatibility and meta-time modeling. The story of hazrat Musa (Moses) (p.b.u.h) as the most extensive QURANIC tale contains the highest use of symbols. The function of the symbol is one the factors of the creating dynamic and compatibility and meta-time modeling of this story as the inward feelings and thought of the addresser has drawn attention to it during the history and it has attracted and allured him. Meanwhile studying whatness of the symbol this research answers this question how the function of the symbol in the story of hazrat Musa (Moses) (p.b.u.h) has made this story to be meta-time and it studies the stick being the symbol of displaying power, the Samiri calf being the symbol of deviance, Israelites’ complaints (grips) being the symbol of complaining and stubbornness, Asiya being the symbol of self-control and it defines the pharaoh of the exodus, Haman and Korah as three invalid (falsehood/ void) symbols of the political, religious (belief) and economic fronts.

Abstract:

As one of the most important mystical works of Persian language, Mathnawi deserves a lot of attention in various aspects. Rumi has used many QURANIC verses in Mathnawi, and one of Rumi's most important techniques in dealing with the Qur'anic verses is their interpretation of the Holy Qur'an and their lively and romantic interpretation. It goes from appearance to backend. Basically, belief in the essence of things is at the center of Rumi's thinking, so he pays special attention to interpretation. He believes that the Holy Quran has an esoteric hidden under the rhetoric. The interpretation of the verses of the Holy Qur'an in Mathnawi is a way of interpretation that brings out the inner beyond the appearance of the standard of love but does not negate the appearance. One of the most important conditions of interpretation for him is his own interpretation, which necessitates self-knowledge and cultivation of the soul, and it requires avoidance of whim. The second, and perhaps the most important, component of interpretation is Rumi's view of the work and its result, which means that one must hope for God's mercy. The subject of this study is the mystical and romantic interpretation of Rumi's verses. One of the most important conditions of interpretation for Mowlana is the interpretation of self which requires self-knowledge and the cultivation of the soul and the result is prostration; that is, interpretation must lead one to happiness and hope in God's mercy.

Abstract:

The present study was carried out to examine the impact of QURANIC STORIES on students’ questioning skills. The population of the study included high school male 2nd graders in district 5 of Tehran in academic year 2015-2016. The study was a quasi-experimental one with pretest/posttest/follow-up design. The sample size was determined through Cochran formula and the participants were selected via multi-stage sampling method. In the next step, the subjects were randomly assigned to experimental (30 students) and control groups (30 students). Afterward, Beck and Jessup Multidimensional Quest Orientation Scale (2004) was administered to the participants. MQOS consists of five subscales assessing various Quest dimensions: complexity, change, tentativeness, universality, and existential motives. The obtained data were analyzed through descriptive as well as inferential statistics (Levene's test, ANCOVA, and dependent t-test). The results showed significant differences between the two groups. More specifically, the students who were trained using QURANIC STORIES significantly showed higher questioning skills compared to those who did not receive any intervention. Moreover, QURANIC STORIES positively affected students’ questioning skills and these changes remained stable over the follow-up period. Hence, it can be concluded that QURANIC STORIES are an effective tool to enhance students’ questioning skills.

Abstract:

The study of the narrative structure of texts has had a significant influence on literary criticism. This influence has even spread to the analysis of QURANIC STORIES so that these STORIES have become an arena for the application of the methods of narrative criticism. By examining the articles that have studied the STORIES of the Quran through these theories, we encounter a large number of works that have employed various methods in their analysis. This study, in order to investigate how narratology is used in the critique of QURANIC STORIES, analyzes the articles written in this field. We do not merely introduce these works, but, with an analytical method, examine different critical approaches in the papers published in scientific-research journals. We have covered the articles published from the last quarter of the twentieth century to the present in Iran, Iraq, and Algeria. We argue that the different approaches of researchers in the study of QURANIC STORIES can be examined in several main areas. Some of these studies have analyzed QURANIC STORIES in a mechanical way by inserting the text into a predetermined framework, so that the analytical part is but a reflection of the theory. A number of researches have made some changes in their method of critique so as to bring a coordination between the text and the theories. And only a few researches have prioritized the text in their attempts at bringing this harmony between the selected theory and the story, and thus, without merlely following the theories, have obtained reliable and novel results. Meanwhile, in a number of studies, we do not see anything but brief references to some methods of narrative criticism, so that the analytical part of these articles is only a personal interpretation of the text without relying on a clear theory in the research.

Abstract:

The QURANIC discourse is a message that carries within it a rhetorical purpose that the sender directs to the addressee for a strategic goal of “ communication. ” The Holy Quran is a message from God Almighty that He revealed to his Messenger, “ Muhammad, ” (PBUH), to convey it to his nation; Among what was mentioned in that letter are the STORIES of the prophets and messengers and what they were exposed to by their nations, and the arguments that God supported them with; in order to take the lesson and exhortation from the previous nations, this calls for a communicative discursive strategy based on the context and the two sides of the communicative process (the speaker/ receiver). Thus, the QURANIC text is a pragmatic text par excellence, because pragmatics is the study of the linguistic achievement during use; that is, the study of language when it is used in different maqam classes as a speech directed from the addresser to the recipient with a specific wording in a specific place to achieve a communicative purpose. For this purpose, this study aims to show the communicative and pragmatic dimension in the QURANIC STORIES, by using the deliberative approach to the QURANIC discourse, which focuses its attention on two matters: the discourse within the context in which it is mentioned, and the communicative role played by both the sender and the addressee during the communicative process, and that By monitoring the mechanisms of the deliberative approach, "such as pilgrims, dialogue imperative, verbal acts, dialogue" and others. . . that are found in the QURANIC STORIES, so that this research paper sheds light on the story of Joseph; and that is through the context, which is based mainly on the purpose which addresser wants to communicate, in addition to the harmony and consistency of speech and its flow, and it is also concerned with the circumstances surrounding the communicative process and the conditions of the addressees in it.

Abstract:

Quran has alluded to Imam Mahdi (pbuh) in various forms. On the base of Many QURANIC and tradition reasons, to some of which are pointed in this research, many of the characteristics of Imam Mahdi (pbuh) and his presence era are explained in the story-like verses of Quran. Indeed, QURANIC verses and traditions are gates to the scenes through looking to which one can find Quran allusions to Imam Mahdi and his presence era. Through reflection on the story-like verses of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Josef, Moses, and Jesus, one can understand these allusions. Some of these allusions are his position of succession, secrecy of his birth, his long life, his absence, punishment of the wrong-doers and salvation of the righteous people as well as formation of a society for righteous people.

Abstract:

Knowledge of and commitment to imama and religious authority of Ahl al-Bayt are provable through consideration of QURANIC STORIES. The reason is that destiny of Islamic Umma is precisely similar to that of previous notions whose fates are reported in various QURANIC STORIES. It is attempted in this essay to prove imama and religious authority of Imams of Ahl al-Bayt on the basis of QURANIC verses.
